quatic Resources Limited maintains a comprehensive inventory of equipment and supplies which enables us to undertake field and laboratory studies at short notice.

Fisheries: Beach and purse seine nets, gillnets, trawls, electroshockers, inclined plane traps, dye marking and grit marking systems, a cold branding system, balances and electronic scales, as well as a scanning receiver and aerials for radio telemetry and tracking surveys.  A Foredom saw and micrometer rest are available for cutting fine sections of otoliths, rays and other aging structures.

Invertebrates: Hess samplers, SCOR nets, Wisconsin nets, Clark Bumpkus nets, microscopes, plankton splitters and a variety of benthic dredges and epibenthic samplers.

Limnology, Oceanography and Hydrology: van Dorn bottles, reversing thermometers, conductivity and temperature meters, thermographs, current meters and water level recorders.

Water Quality: pH meters, Hach kits, DO meters, Winkler apparatus, BOD incubation system, transmissometer, turbidimeters, and tensionometer for measuring total gas saturation. Colorimeters for field testing turbidity and nutrients.

Soils and Substrates: Smith-McIntyre dredge, Ekman dredge, Phleger corer, Ogeechee corer, Tyler sieves, oven and electric sieve shaker.

Lake and Stream Survey: Furuno FE-4300 recording depth sounder, GPS receivers, range finders, hip chains, and stereoscopes.

Weather: Precipitation gauges, wind speed and direction recorders, hygrometers, altimeter/ barometers and barographs.

Data Analysis, GIS and Report Preparation: PC compatible and Macintosh microcomputers, digitizing tables, map plotters and a wide range of software including Arc/Info and Arcview geographic information systems.

Field Support: Light trucks, vans, and five boats, including inflatables, cartoppers, and a 6 m jet boat with trailer. In addition, we have an 8' camper, survey and backpacking tents, plus sufficient camp equipment to accommodate up to 20 people in remote areas.
